# Site Log

## What it does
Turns a folder of site photos and rough notes into a captioned, ordered progress record, plus the short narrative section that carries the month's story.

## When to use
- Monthly, once you have the assessed figures to write against.
- Any time the photos exist but nobody has written what they show.

## Instructions
1. Ask for: the month's site photographs, site diaries or inspection notes, the assessed valuation, and the programme update.
2. Caption each photograph: date, location or grid reference, trade, and what it evidences in one line.
3. Group by trade or by zone, whichever matches how the report is structured, and order chronologically inside each group.
4. Identify the photographs that evidence a disputed claim line or a delay, and mark them as such.
5. Write the progress narrative in past tense, describing what was achieved, not what was intended. Tie each paragraph to a figure from the cost report or programme.
6. Note weather, access restrictions and any event that affected productivity, with dates.
7. Flag any period with no photographic record.

## Output format
- Captioned photo schedule, grouped and ordered
- Evidence index: which photos support which claim line or delay
- Progress narrative, 300 to 500 words, past tense
- Site conditions log: weather, access, disruptions, with dates
- Gaps in the record

## The one mistake to avoid
Writing the narrative from the programme rather than from the photographs. If the words describe planned work and the pictures show something else, the client will notice, and the whole report loses credibility.
